What are the fees?
All clients are charged the same hourly fee. However, the level of cleaning needed by each client; e.g., a major or special event cleaning, frequency of cleaning, and additional cleaning services such as doing laundry or ironing will be discussed and a formal estimate given.
A check payable to General Cleaning Service is expected on the day of service.
Do I get an estimate for the cleanings?
Tim Rosshirt, owner of General Cleaning Service, will meet personally with each prospective client, go through the home and discuss the client’s needs – and what the home needs to make it be at its best and help maintain the high standard of cleaning that is provided. A written estimate with recommendations and options is generally given during the home visit; for more comprehensive cleanings, the proposal will be sent within two business days. All services provided will be agreed upon by the client, with no surprises or hidden fees.
When will the cleaning be scheduled and do I need to be home?
Most clients prefer to not be home during the cleaning. Cleanings are generally scheduled during the Monday-Friday standard work week. However, General Cleaning Service will work to accommodate a client’s needs and can schedule weekend cleanings as agreed upon. Regular cleanings that fall on a national holiday will be rescheduled to meet the client’s needs.
What cleaning products are used?
We have a list of preferred cleaning products, time-tested and proven to make the home sanitary, streak-free and shining. We know which products are safe and will protect the surfaces and items in your home. This list is given to new clients and the products are kept at each home and used only in that home. Cleaning products are paid for by the client.
If you have preferred cleaning products, such as natural, organic, allergen- or odor-free, we will use those.
What is a typical cleaning?
We don’t like to stereotype because all of our clients are special and unique – and our services are geared to their individual needs. However, every basic cleaning includes changing linens, dusting, sweeping, scrubbing floors throughout home, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen and bathrooms and cleaning bedrooms, living areas, and dining room.
A major cleaning will include every living area of the home from top to bottom. No spot, speck of dust or streak will be left untouched. A major cleaning is recommended for new clients; it provides the basis of a newly-cleaned home that helps General Cleaning Service maintain the home on a regular weekly, biweekly or monthly cleaning.
